I have been told not to say too much about this yet… but it has definitely been part of the vision for over 20 yrs.
Imagine a bus pulling up to a park and unloading a bunch of young adult volunteers with sports equipment, a BBQ and music blaring. A mobile youth drop-in partnering with, and being sponsored by local organizations like Rec Centres, Church Youth Groups and even community minded businesses.
We could join the festivities of a new Rec. Centre opening or help launch the first youth night of the year. We could assist the outreach of a new ministry or provide underprivileged youth with a safe place to be.
Phase 2.1 ?
A mobile drop-in shelter – on those frigidly cold nights, partnering with local shelters who might be beyond capacity to find those areas where people are sleeping outdoors and provide them with a warm place to sit and maybe even get a bit to eat. Imagine a motor coach pulling up – those buses can run for 27hrs on one tank of diesel and they have washrooms. Picture the front luggage with a grill mounted on rails. All you have to do is slide it out and drop down the legs. There could be chili simmering ready to fill an urgent need.
